Whether by design or accident, Mr. Vilaro’s own “Asuka,” came out best. Since the premiere in December of this tribute to the Cuban-born salsa legend Celia Cruz the company has relaxed into it. They seem comfortable in its contemporary style, its loose, sometimes same-sex partnering. Ms. Wyatt, less vehement now in the Cruz role, gave the evening’s most powerful performance. “Asuka” is what Ballet Hispanico — at this moment, under Mr. Vilaro — can do well.
